We can't choose a Domain Name for you, but we can register a .com, .net, .org, .biz or .info name for you at the lowest cost. We can also register a .co.uk name for a little more. The rules for other countries may require you to register the name and then "loan" it to us to set up a site. France, for instance, will only register a .fr domain name to a registered company (SIRET or SIREN required).

If you want to see if a domain name is available, we recommend whois.net.   Don't register there: just use the site for information.

It's easy to transfer ownership of a domain name: the name is typically transferred to you within a month or two, unless you prefer us to handle enquiries.   Transferring registrars can be a lot more difficult, which is why we ask you to leave registration to us.

The hosting company that we prefer to use is icdsoft.com.   It's inexpensive and reliable.   It also allows us a great deal more flexibility than competitive hosting companies.   We currently use their servers in the United States and Germany.

It's your choice whether or not to register yourself as the site owner.   It's normal to have emails regarding renewal sent to both you and us.   It makes sense to leave backup decisions to us and to enable us to set up email accounts and make changes to Web pages.   If you want to make changes to Web pages yourself, we have to talk about it!   The preferred method is for you to instruct us what to change, for us to set up "test" pages for you to review, and (when you approve) for us to promote to live status.
